Saint Clement seeks an Assistant Director of Music who will serve as a member of our collaborative worship team and contribute to an inspiring music ministry consisting of robust and participatory music within the spirit of the Second Vatican Council.
We seek a person of creative musical vision who has experience and training in contemporary liturgical and sacred music as well as strong interpersonal and pastoral skills. The Assistant Director of Music will poses excellent choral and keyboard skills. The assistant Director of Music will be an excellent pianist who is capable of inspiring the parish community through service playing and choral accompaniment. The Assistant Director of Music is responsible for the spiritual and musical nurture of the Chapel choir that sings weekly for the 9:30am Mass in the chapel. The choir consists of 10-20 volunteer singers and instrumentalists. The choir rehearses on a weekday evening and warms up each Sunday prior to the Mass. The director of the chapel choir is responsible for choosing choral and congregational music as well as creating the weekly order of service/worship aide. Depending on the availability and expertise of the applicant, the position could also include children's choir leadership and music office management.

to form a children's-youth choir (contemporary, traditional Catholic and
Christian music- bi-lingual, but mostly Spanish). We would like a
children-youth choir director capable of inviting, teaching and forming a
choir for our 8am and 12 noon Sunday Spanish masses.
We have over 300 students k-9 in our Saturday catechism classes and our
parish congregation is predominantly young families. This would be a
part-time position. Our catechism program is from 10-12 Saturday morning and
2-4pm Saturday afternoon.
Since this is a new position, hours, goals and duties can be discussed to
determine how best to begin forming a choir, even if we start with just one
choir at one of our masses.

and accompanist. Responsibilities
include music planning and performance for one Mass each weekend at each
parish as well as at two school Masses each week.
The person filling this position would coordinate music for the
larger, special liturgical celebrations throughout the year and could also
play for weddings and funerals.
The qualified candidate
should be well versed in both traditional and contemporary Catholic
liturgical music as well as Spanish language music.
Must be able to work with already established parish choirs and
ensembles, particularly by providing direction and formation.
The ability to work with the pastoral team and articulate a total
vision of pastoral music is essential.
The person filling this position must also feel confident to form and
direct youth and teen choirs. The
ideal candidate has a good understanding and the ability to work well in a
bi-lingual and bi-cultural context. Fluency
in Spanish is a definite plus, but not required.

St.
John de la Salle Catholic Church on the far south side of Chicago is a
predominantly African American parish composed of 330 families. The
part-time position of Choir Director of the 12 Noon Mass involves providing direction
and accompaniment for the choir and soloists at the 12 Noon Mass every
Sunday based on preparation at a prior weekly choir rehearsal; also
responsible for providing the same for special feast day Masses and other
liturgical celebrations. Choir Director is responsible for selecting hymnody
and Mass parts for each respective liturgical season. Also responsible for
recruiting new members to the choir (presently choir has 8 members).
The
Choir Director is under the supervision of the Director of Music and the
Pastor of St. John de la Salle Church. The Choir Director is required to
attend a weekly meeting with the Director of Music and/or Pastor and a

Qualifications:
must be a practicing Roman Catholic; minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in
Music; above average keyboard skills on organ and piano; significant
expertise working with Catholic music and liturgy; significant expertise
working with African American hymnody; previous experience directing a choir

Winnetka Presbyterian Church is looking for an accompanist for our 25-voice Chancel Choir. Our Choir enjoys singing in a variety of styles, so we are seeking someone who is comfortable with many musical genres. The main responsibility of the accompanist will be to accompany the singing f of the anthem each week and other music, as needed. The Music Director will take the lead in playing hymns and other service music. The ideal candidate is:
